Our guides and lender pages are there to help you understand your rights and decide what to do, including complaining yourself for free. This page explains how we put them together.
Who writes our pages
Pages are written by the Claims & Refunds team at RFLCS Ltd, a claims management company authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 978092). We write in plain English and avoid jargon. Where a page has been reviewed by a named person, it says so at the top.
Where our facts come from
- The FCA’s rules, including the Consumer Credit sourcebook (CONC), and FCA statements and policy papers
- Published decisions and data from the Financial Ombudsman Service
- Lenders’ own websites, reports and announcements, and Companies House
- Administrators’ and scheme of arrangement notices, for lenders that have closed
- Legislation and official guidance from GOV.UK
Where we refer to an Ombudsman decision, we link to it so you can read it yourself. Every complaint depends on its own facts, so a past decision doesn’t mean yours will go the same way.
Keeping pages up to date
Each guide and lender page shows the date it was last updated. We check pages when the rules change, when a lender’s situation changes (for example if it closes or a scheme of arrangement is announced), and at least every six months.
Being fair about claims companies
We introduce people to regulated law firms and claims management companies and may be paid by them. That never changes what our guides say. Every page that talks about claiming tells you that you can complain to the lender and the Financial Ombudsman Service yourself, for free, and our free complaint letters show you how.
We don’t promise outcomes or amounts. Our calculators give rough estimates only.
